Impro-Visor v10.2 for MacOS
Impro-Visor v10.2 for MacOS Impro-Visor (short for “Improvisation Advisor”) is a music notation program designed to help jazz musicians compose and hear solos similar to ones that might be improvised. The objective is to improve understanding of solo construction and tune chord changes. There are other, secondary, things it can do, such as improvise on its own. It has also been used for transcription. Because rhythm-section (e.g. piano, bass, drums) accompaniment is automatically generated from chords, Impro-Visor can be used as a play-along device. Now having a wider array of accompaniment styles, its use is not limited to jazz. Partial List of Features: Lead sheets and solos can be constructed through either point-and-click or using a plain text editor (one is provided, but any editor can be used). Optional automatic note coloration shows whether notes are consonant or dissonant with chords and scales. Chords may also be entered quickly through a "roadmap" editor, which also analyzes chord changes for implied keys and idiomatic progressions ("bricks"). Harmonic note entry option guides the user to select notes that are consonant with harmony. Similarly, transposition options provide chromatic or harmonic transposition. Solos or solo fragments can be played back immediately on the computer, with automatic rhythm section accompaniment. Can be used for self-study, classroom, or play-along. Any segment of a leadsheet can be played back in looped mode. Users can define new accompaniment styles. There is spreadsheet-like Style Editor, and a Style Extractor facility that helps create styles from MIDI performances. . Solos and heads may be exported as MIDI files, with accompaniment if desired. Solos and heads may be exported as MusicXML, for import to other popular music notation software. It is not necessary that the soloist memorize the solos that are created in Impro-Visor. The act of constructing solos is intended to help one get a better understanding of the tune ...

On-screen Ruler v2.4.0.167
On-screen Ruler v2.4.0.167 A lightweight, free, semi-transparent ruler for the desktop. Align The on-screen ruler allows precise alignment relative to what you are trying to measure. Alignment is possible in two ways: Gross alignment by dragging the ruler with the mouse, and fine alignment using the keyboard. To move the ruler using the mouse, simply left-click away from the edges, drag the ruler to where you need it and release the left mouse button. Fine Control To position the ruler to pixel-level accuracy (nudge), use the arrow keys. The movement is intuitive; the left arrow key moves the ruler 1 pixel to the left, the right arrow key moves the ruler 1 pixel to the right, the up arrow key moves the ruler 1 pixel up and the down arrow key moves the ruler 1 pixel down. Holding an arrow key down moves the ruler 1 pixel at a time in the direction of the arrow until the key is released. The ruler will extend past the screen boundaries, so make sure not to move it off screen. If you do, use Home to restore it to the screen centre (assuming the ruler is the active window). Tip: use Home or Ctrl + Home to re-centre the ruler if you accidentally move it off screen. Gross Control To move the ruler in larger increments (bump), use Shift + Up, Shift + Left, Shift + Down or Shift + Right Arrow keys. These key combinations move the ruler 20 pixels at a time. Pinning To align the ruler at the screen boundaries, use Ctrl + Up, Ctrl + Left, Ctrl + Down or Ctrl + Right Arrow keys. Centering To re-centre the ruler, use either the Home key or the Ctrl + Home key combination. The Home key does not change the width ...

Origami Editor 3D v1.3.5
Origami Editor 3D v1.3.5 Virtual paper folding program. Origami Editor 3D is an advanced paper folding simulator. It uses a what-you-see-is-what-you-get interface and operates with a geometric abstraction of the Yoshizawa-Randlett system. Anything from a simple airplane to John Montroll's omega star can be folded in this editor. Origami files created with the program preserve the entire folding process, and they can be exported as folding diagrams in PDF, animated GIF files, or even as standalone Java programs displaying the origami in a 3D viewer when opened. The main purpose of this program is designing origami, but if you only want to learn how to make some origami figures, there is a set of built-in example files that can help you. Currently, there are 34 example figures available. Please note that this project was created for fun and still is a work in progress. The Discussion forum is open for anyone who wants to report a bug or suggest a new feature. User Guide: http://origamieditor3d.sourceforge.net/userguide/en/index.html Features Folding operations: reflecting, rotating and cutting Various precision improvement options Real-time crease pattern calculation Export to PDF, OpenCTM, GIF, JAR and PNG Textures A continuously growing set of built-in example figures Tools for neusis construction OrigamiScript, a script language for origami This program requires Java. PhpGedView v4.3.0
PhpGedView v4.3.0 PhpGedView is a free, collaborative genealogy program that allows you to view and edit your genealogy online. PhpGedView has full editing capabilities, full privacy controls and support linking to multimedia files such as images and videos. Your latest genealogy information is always available online for others to see. Traditional Genealogy Traditionally, you run a genealogy program on your home computer and enter all the information you collect. Several people (possibly located around the world) may be doing exactly the same thing. At some point you may find you have links to each others trees and you go ahead and update your tree with this new information. There are several problems with this: You have to enter all the data yourself. This can be: Time consuming Error prone If there is a lot of information, it can be difficult to decide which data to add and which to leave out Relying on other researchers to update you on their progress is optimistic because: They may not have the time or willingness to keep more than one or two people updated They have to guess what changes would be of interest to you They may forget what changes to inform you about Several people duplicating the exact same records is a waste of resources, time and money. Why not work together in a collaborative environment!? Traditional genealogy programs will allow you to generate HTML pages that can be uploaded to your website and viewed by anyone. However, there are several problems ...
